Giving Our Children the Best Start in Life
The future of our economy depends on a well-educated, highly-skilled workforce. Education is largely a devolved issue, meaning that Wales can forge its own path in determining its priorities. We know that giving our children a strong start in life is vital, not only for their own future, but for the future of Wales. However, we believe that there is still much to be done in education such as ensuring that as much of the resources as possible reaches the front line – classrooms and teachers – in order to improve basic skills such as literacy and numeracy.
You can read about our plans to provide full-time high-quality education for all children from the age of three in our consultation paper.
